Mark Fiorelli of Wallington launched the page for PJ Pfeiffer, his best friend since third grade, who doesn't have medical insurance.

Pfeiffer was released from the hospital on Tuesday.

"It's been a rough 3 days but I'm happy I'm going home," he wrote on Facebook. "Still in a lot of pain but just wanted to thank everyone who came by or reached out to me...."

Pfeiffer, a 2006 Dumont High School graduate, has been a member of the borough department's Truck No. 2 since 2006.

"He always goes above and beyond to help out whenever he is needed whether in Dumont or any other town or firefighter that needs help," Fiorelli said.
