DUMONT, N.J. -- A driver was hospitalized in critical condition with a skull fracture after a freight train struck his pickup truck in Dumont overnight Sunday.
Dumont Ambulance took the driver to Hackensack University Medical Center after a medical chopper was called but cancelled following the crash at Niagara Street and Cortland Avenue around 12:45 a.m.
Responders told Daily Voice that he'd apparently been driving on the tracks when it was hit by the CSX train.
