ANOTHER CVP SCOOP: Chemicals left at the New Milford DPW building prompted a call this morning to the Bergen County Hazardous Materials Response Team.
The team, which determined that no threat existed, was called after a landscaper left chemicals for disposal.
“The two each standing alone mean nothing,” New Milford Police Chief Frank Papapietro told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
“But the foreman was concerned what would happen if they got combined in the bin,” the chief said. “He decided it was better to be safe.”
Officials were contacting the landscaper to be absolutely sure of what they have. County inspectors, after determining there was no cause for concern, said they would do a follow-up.
