His mother last saw Portizo, 54, on Thursday and reported him missing Friday afternoon, Chief Frank Papapietro told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Six hours later, police in Brooklyn reported finding Portizo’s car, keys, wallet and cellphone, New Milford Detective Brian Long said.

Portizo, who is single, has scars on his stomach and chest from suicide attempts and surgeries, the chief said.

Authorities are checking area hospitals and medical centers. Meanwhile, they’re hoping someone has some idea of where Portizo is.

Papapietro described him as 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, with brown eyes and balding black hair, with no upper teeth. He was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information should either call 911 directly or contact the New Milford Police Department: (201) 261-1400.
