BERGENFIELD, N.J. – Police aren't busting drivers with dozens of bags of heroin only in the towns that border Paterson, say police in Bergenfield who found nearly four dozen envelopes of the drug during a traffic stop.
Officer Gregory Slater stopped a 2013 silver Volkswagen that was speeding on North Prospect Avenue late Thursday and spotted empty glassine envelopes and rubber bands in the car, Capt. Mustafa Rabboh said.
A search turned up 45 envelopes of heroin and a dozen empties, he said.
Slater arrested the driver, 29-year-old borough resident, Angel L. Hruska, on drug and paraphernalia possession charges. He also wrote summonses for careless driving and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle.
Police released Hruska pending a March 8 court hearing.
In a Facebook message, Hruska said she want to "get back to her life and the people and things she loves."
