DUMONT, N.J. -- Vincent L. Garafalo, of Dumont, died Saturday, Jan. 2. He was 84.
He was born in New York City to the late Sophie (nee Melchior) and Frank Garofalo, and was employed as a senior dispatcher for the New York City Transit Authority for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
He was the father of Robert Garofalo and Carol Lipko; grandfather of Staci and Justin Cohen, Jessica and Christopher Garofalo; and brother of Hilda Stundon. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby (nee Triestman) and daughter Joyce Cohen. He is survived by his son-in-law Jeff Cohen.
A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church. All are asked to gather directly at the church at 10:50 a.m.; there is no visitation at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home in Dumont.
