DUMONT, N.J. -- Dumont resident Sophie (Affsa) Weaver died Saturday, Jan. 2. She was 89.
Born in Pawtucket, R.I., Weaver worked as a health aide at CareOne, in Cresskill, for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her children Clifford and Donald Weaver, and Laura Heywang and her husband John; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings George Affsa, Gloria Mazawey and Rosemary Brady; and several nieces and nephews.
Weaver was predeceased by her son Joseph and her parents, Rose (Baccarat) and George Affsa.
Visitation hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at St. Mary’s. Cremation is private.
