Rose E. Barry, 51, Former Dumont Resident

DUMONT, N.J. -- Rose E. Barry -- a Weehawken resident, formerly of Dumont -- died on Tuesday, Feb. 7. She was 51.

Born in New York City, Barry graduated from Seton Hall University and then earned a law degree from New York Law School. She spent her career in the financial services sector, with J.P. Morgan, Macquarie Group, and most recently as vice president of compliance with Neuberger Berman in New York City.

"Not only was she an aunt to her beloved nieces and nephews, she was like an aunt to many other children," information from the funeral home stated. 

She adored all of the children in her life, treating them as though they were her own. Rose was a loving, selfless individual who was respected and loved by all, a generous soul who always put others first. Her family and friends felt blessed to be a part of her life. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Barry is survived by her brother, James Barry and his wife Karen; brother-in-law John Murphy; and nieces and nephews Mary Kate, Joseph, Michael, Colleen, Kevin, Meghan, John and Sean.

She was preceded by her parents, Vincent and Mary Barry, and her sister, Patricia Murphy.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., in Dumont. A mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's Church, in Dumont, followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery, in Monsey, New York.
