DUMONT, N.J. — Dumont resident Robert W. Smith died Wednesday, April 27. He was 88.
Smith, a Pennsylvania native, was a World War II veteran and worked as a manufacturer of truck bodies at Mason, Kris, Lang Industries, in Englewood, N.J. He also worked for the Edgewater Post Office.
Smith is survived by his wife Ruth L. (Reichwald); their children Robert and wife Donna, Craig, Jeffrey and wife Karen; grandchildren Phillip, Tanya, Jason, Jennifer; three great-grandchildren; and his sister Maryann Lavin and husband Jack.
A funeral service will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave. in Dumont.
Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Smith's memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
