DUMONT, N.J. -- Robert Cassidy, 83, of Dumont, died Wednesday, Sept. 14. He was 83.
He was born May 12, 1933, in Brooklyn.
He was the owner of Carl Joecks Inc. plumbing of New York City since 1968. He was very well known on Broadway and was known as “the plumber to the stars.”
He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country during the Korean War on the USS Ticonderoga, where he also served as the chaplin’s assistant.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children, Robin Cassidy and her husband Eric Kelly, Kim Cassidy and her husband George Huang and Foo Cassidy and her husband Ken Westlund; grandchildren, Lauren, Christina, Dana, Raymond, Liam and Erin; and his brother, Jack Cassidy.
He was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Therese R.C. Church, 120 Monroe Ave., Cresskill. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.
