DUMONT, N.J. -- Raymond Charles, 81, of Dumont, died Monday, Sept. 12. He was 81.
He was born and raised in the Bronx.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the honor guard.
What he cherished most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had an excellent singing voice and was affectionately known as the “Gamemaker.” He created and hand made many board games throughout the years and loved to introduce and test them out on his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lucy; and his five siblings, Arthur, John, Gerard, Marie and Eleanor.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Piacentino; two sons, Michael and his wife Amy and their children Michael, Thomas, Timothy, Kirby and Anna and Stephen and his wife Tracy and their children Craig, Kylie and Alexis.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, 102 Park St., Haworth. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
