Perry DiGiovanni, 89, Of New Milford

NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Perry DiGiovanni, a longtime resident of New Milford, died Sunday, Nov. 22. He was 89. 

DiGiovanni served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46, where he was honored with a Purple Heart. He started as a garment presser, working at a young age and retired as a quality control manager at Liz Claiborne. He was a past Grand Knight for the New Milford Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at St. Joseph’s and for Meals on Wheels. 

He is survived by his wife Anna of 68 years; children, Alfred DiGiovanni and his wife Dawn of Vernon, Ann Marie and her husband Brad Morgan of Pompton Lakes, Phyllis and her husband Patrick Toli of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Perri Ann Morgan, Evan Morgan and his wife Kim, David Toli, and Quinn Perry DiGiovanni; and great-grandchildren, Kiara Toli and Emilie Morgan.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Oradell. Entombment following at Garden of Memories, Washington Township. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to St. Joseph’s R.C. Church Oradell or the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Council #3814, 199 River Road, New Milford, NJ 07646.
