Born in Ireland, Burke immigrated to Queens in 1957, raised his family in Long Island and eventually settled in Dumont in 1988. He was employed at PSEG, in Long Island, and was also a member of the Bergen Irish Association.
Burke is survived by his wife, Margaret (Buckley) Burke; children Michael and Mary Ann; and siblings Patrick and Bridie. He was predeceased by his parents, Anne (Mullin) and Patrick Burke, and siblings Richard, Bill, Ann and Mary.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., in Dumont. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, at St. Mary's, in Dumont.
