Louis Vincent LaMonaca, 91, Of New Milford

NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Louis Vincent LaMonaca, 91, of New Milford, died Sunday, Oct. 23. 

Born in New York City, he was a resident of New Milford for many years.

He served his country honorably in the the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. When the war was over, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a machine mechanic at the Eastern Area Overhaul Center in Queens, N.Y. for more thanr 36 years before retiring in 1984. After his retirement Postal Service, he went to work for the New Milford Board of Education at the Gibbs Elementary School and New Milford High School as a maintenance supervisor.

He was an avid collector of Lionel Trains and a model train enthusiast. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Anna; and sisters, Delia Cuponni and Serina Matola. 

He is survived by her sons, Gerry Lamonaca and his wife Linda and Joseph G. Lamonaca; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Melinda, and Gerlando,Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Jane and Avery Lynn.
