DUMONT, N.J. -- Julius Doerig, of Dumont and formerly of Fort Lee, died Saturday, Jan. 2. He was 95.
He was the father of Robert Doerig and his wife Deborah and Joan Stroh and her husband Michael; grandfather of Katie, Jim and his wife Jessica and Brian and his wife Katie; and great-grandfather of Daniella.
He was predeceased by his wife Rose (nee Lorio) in 1989.
He was born in North Bergen to the late Albert and Marie Doerig.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University and a pharmacist at Hines Pharmacy in Union City. He also was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
There will be a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
