Joseph George Gaetano, 91, Lifelong Bronx Resident

NEW MILFORD, N.J. — Lifelong Bronx resident Joseph George Gaetano died on Sunday, May 15. He was 91.

Before retiring at the age of 62, Gaetano worked as a dye stamper for many years. 

Gaetano served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1946.

He is survived by his children and their spouses; daughter, Angela Smith and her husband Michael; daughter, Rosalie Santaniello and her husband Vincent; and son, Joseph George Gaetano Jr. 

Gaetano also is survived by his brother, Rev. Frank M. Gaetano; grandchildren, Christopher Santaniello, Teresa Santaniello-Kornstein, Kenneth Smith, Jonathan Smith, Timothy Smith, Alex Gaetano, and Noelle Gaetano; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lena Maria, Vincent, Victoria, Michael, Grace, Kenneth, and Maria. 

Gaetano was predeceased by his wife, Grace (Mazzola).

A funeral mass will be celebrated in his memory at Saint Joseph R.C. Church, in New Milford on Wednesday, May 18 at 10 a.m.

Burial to follow at Saint Raymond's Cemetery, in Bronx, N.Y.

Visitation is scheduled at the funeral home for Tuesday, May 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
