NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- John G. McKeon, 77, of New Milford, passed away peacefully at home Sunday March 13 surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y.. he settled in New Milford with his family, where he had lived since 1977. He was a graduate of New York University, receiving a Bachelors of Science in civil engineering.
He was an engineer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 33 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the St. Joseph Council #3814 Knights of Columbus for many years.
He leaves behind his wife Barbara A. McKeon; his son Sean P. McKeon and wife Elizabeth; a sister Jean Drumm; brother Joseph McKeon; and grandson Owen R. McKeon.
McKeon was predeceased by his late daughter Kerrie Marie McKeon.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Ascension, 256 Azalea Drive, New Milford. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Joseph Council #3814 Knights of Columbus.
