John F. Coringrato, 76, Of Bergenfield

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- John F. Coringrato, 76, of Bergenfield died Monday, Nov. 16. 

Born in the Bronx, Coringrato, was raised in Greenwich Village. After marrying Idalina Duarte in 1967, the couple moved to New Jersey, where they settled in Bergenfield for the past 45 years. 

Coringrato served in the U.S. Army from 1962-64. After being discharged, he served in U.S. Army Reserves.

Coringrato enjoyed playing the piano Saturdays at Woodcraft Center in New Milford. 

He is survived by his wife Idalina Coringrato; daughters Lisa Rohwohlt (Michael) and Tracy Penski (David); sister Margaret Alfano (Philip); brother-in-law Anthony Mangier; grandsons Devon Rohwohlt and Samuel Penski; cousins John and Josephine Coringrato; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Ascension, New Milford. Burial to follow George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
