Irving M. Keeter, 79, Of Dumont

DUMONT, N.J. -- Irving M. Keeter, of Dumont, died Nov. 15. He was 79.

He was born in East Fishkill, to Caroline (nee Olsen) and Monte Keeter and was employed as a truck driver with Eastern Freight Maislin Trucking, retiring from Chief Trucking in Wayne in 2008. He was a member of Old North Reformed Church, Dumont and Truck Drivers Union Local #560. He was a proud U.S Air Force veteran serving in France from 1957-61.

He was predeceased by his wife, Judy (VanDecker). 

He is survived by his children, Jackie Armeli and her husband Michael, Michelle Arvanitis and her husband George and Sheri Mitroulas; grandchildren, Candace Boyd and her husband Robby, Brianne Collier, Rachael, Michael and Katie Mae Armeli, Kosta and Christopher Irving Arvanitis, Ashley, Taylor and Brooke Mitroulas; great-grandchildren, Bobby, Jayden, Alexa Boyd, Tyler Armeli and Makayla Collier; and sister, Ruthie Frassa and her husband Jack.  

There will be a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visitation will be  from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
