Helen M. de Lyon,98, Of Dumont

DUMONT, N.J. -- Helen M. de LYON, of Dumont, died on Monday, Dec. 12. She was 98.

She was born in Staten Island, NY to Minna (vonTwistern) and Ernest Knippenberg and was employed as a telephone operator for New York Bell Telephone for many years.

Predeceased by her husband, Lous de Lyon. She is survived by her children, Louis de Lyon and his wife Catherine, Allen de Lyon and Thomas de Lyon and his wife Bonnie; her grandchildren, Jennifer Kelly and her husband Patrick, Kevin, Michael Davis and Lia de Lyon; and great-grandchildren; Patrick and Caitlin Kelly. Predeceased by her brothers, Ernest and Edward Knippenberg.

Visiting will be on  Monday, Dec. 19, 10 a.m. – noon, with a service to follow officiated by Rev. Cynthia Grady, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. She will be laid to rest with her husband at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Valley Health System Hospice, C/O The Valley Hospital Foundation, 223 N. Van Dien Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
