NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Helen C. Rice, a resident of New Milford for over 60 years, died Wednesday, March 23. She was 94.
She was a longtime parishioner of Ascension Roman Catholic Church in New Milford. For many years, she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Carol Monahan and her husband Gerald, Kenneth Rice, Robert Rice and his wife Lynn, Richard Rice and his partner Steven Kanter, and Diane LoPresti and her husband Richard; grandchildren, Melissa, Megan, Justin, Kyle, Lauren and Gabrielle.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Rice and her sisters, Ann Oley and Mae McGrath.
Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, March 26, from 5-8 p.m. at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 28, at 9:30 a.m. at Ascension Church in New Milford. All are to meet at the church. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
