More than $13,800 had been raised as of Friday morning on a GoFundMe launched to help his family cover funeral expenses.
Loved ones and acquaintances alike left heartfelt messages for Rovetto on his Facebook wall, many referencing his love for Pink Floyd.
"I'm at a loss for words right now. I know how much you love Floyd like I do so this is for you Gabe," said one friend, who included a link to "Wish You Were Here."
"You have such a bright soul," another longtime friend said. "I guess now you'll bring your brightness up above. Rest easy Gabe! I'll miss you brother."
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home in Dumont at 12:45 p.m. Interment will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park cemetery in Paramus.
