Carol A. Forrest, 81, Of Dumont

DUMONT, N.J. -- Carol A. Forrest, a resident of Dumont, died Thursday, May 19. She was 81.

She was a longtime volunteer, serving as PTA board member at Honiss School, Dumont High School and Bergen County, as well as president at Grant School and honored PTA lifetime member. She was a Girl Scout leader, trainer and served on the Bergen County board. She was also a Cub Scout leader and president of the Dumont High School Band Boosters. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed her knitting, crosswords, needlework and "Jeopardy" up to her last day.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, John and Kim, Tom and Mary Ann, Meg and Mike and Liz and Craig; her grandchildren, Matthew, Brittney, Kaleigh, Sean, Daniel and Lita; her sister, Anne and her husband Fred along with their sons Bill and Fred; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; her parents, Anne and Bill; and her sister, Joan.

Visiting will be Monday, May 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. All will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 24, at 9 a.m., prior to the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roma Catholic Church in Haworth at 10 a.m. Interment at Long Island National Cemetery will be private.
