Bergenfield Driver Dies In Mendham Tractor Trailer Crash

BERGENFIELD, N.J. — Anthony Echeverry, 28 of Bergenfield, has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash Wednesday morning involving a tractor trailer in Mendham, authorities said.

Echeverry was driving westbound on Route 24 when he struck the side of a tractor trailer tanker truck, turning off of Roxiticus Road, around 7:50 a.m., police said in a statement.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the tractor trailer driver sustained no serious injuries, and none of the truck's contents leaked, police said.

The accident was still under investigation as of Wednesday evening.
