NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Alphonse Giella, 77, passed away Friday July 22, 2016.
Born in Astoria, Queens, he lived there for many years before moving to New Milford in 1971.
A lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Giants fan, Giella was a lithographic printer for many years with Davis Printing in Carlstadt before retiring. In his retirement, he worked at Pascak Valley Hospital in Westwood.
He was the husband of 52 years of Anna (nee Marra); and father of Susan Baraban and her husband Edward, Patricia Disorda and her husband Craig and Robert Giella and his wife Renee. He also is survived by his brother Joseph Giella; and sister Claire Lodati; and grandchildren Nicholas, Justin, Jacqueline and Ava.
He was predeceased by his brothers John and Frank Giella.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Ascension, 256 Azalea Drive, New Milford. Entombment to follow at Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Paramus. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford.
