Dumont, New Milford Gas Main Repairs Nearly Complete

DUMONT, N.J. -- A massive project to replace gas mains in Bergenfield, Dumont and New Milford is nearly complete, according to NorthJersey.com.

The $1.2 billion project began in 2014 and saw 250 miles of old, antiquated cast iron gas main lines replaced with plastic piping. The old mains sustained damage during Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy, NorthJersey.com reported.
