“When I heard (the diagnosis), I was devastated. It’s like a death sentence," said his cousin, Ann Margaret Stango. "But if you find the right place that can do the care and the treatments, he might have a longer life.
“i’m harassing him. I’m kicking his butt,” Stango said of her cousin, who had felt abdominal and back pain for a long time before a CT scan revealed the disease.
The 50-something father of five, an avid New Jersey Devils fan, was working several jobs.
The family plans a fundraiser and tricky tray event with the Dumont Elks on Jan. 16 to help offset bills.

"Larry was very active with the school sports with the kids," she said. "I wish doctors found it sooner."
