Alba, who hails from the Dominican Republic, was selected among more than 24,000 employees for her leadership, outstanding contributions to her restaurant and dedication to great customer service every day, company officials said.
"I am incredibly honored to receive this award," said Alba of New Milford, who has been working at McDonald's for almost seven years.
"Everyone at the restaurant, from the owners to the customers, is like my second family and I'm grateful to work for an organization that inspires me to be the best at what I do."
She was presented with a trophy and plaque by McDonald's Lynn Rudy, the company's Regional Director of Operations, on Monday. Bergenfield Mayor Norman Schmelz and other local officials presented Alba with an official proclamation in honor of her achievement.
"Our customers all know and love Fatima for her smile and enthusiasm," store owner Linda Dunham said. "She truly embodies the spirit of the award."
When Alba first joined the organization she worked at the counter before moving to the kitchen and then the drive thru, her current station.
The performance-based award was established in 2002 and recognizes the top 24 performing crew members in McDonald's company restaurants in the U.S.
