On Saturday, Urman rallied several other rescues to take loads of puppies — all under six months old — so that Just Pups Owner Vincent Losacco could sanitize and reorganize his shop, the rescuer said.
Some of the puppies sold at Just Pups were quarantined earlier this month due to a respiratory illness, News 12 reports.
Urman had all of the puppies dewormed, bathed, treated for tics and fleas and inoculated. Two of the dogs were taken to an emergency hospital — one with pneumonia, the other with a liver shunt.
She's currently seeking foster and adoptive homes for the dogs — which vary in breed from German Shephards to Shiht Tzus.
"It's amazing what five hours can do," Urman said of the animals, many of whom are Christmas gift returns and desperate for socialization.
"I can't fix where they came from," she said. "The point is that if you're an animal advocate then you've got to care about the animal."
Anyone who adopts a puppy from Pet ResQ will get $10 off at Something To Wag About located on E. Madison Avenue.
