RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The Valley Hospital has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) for the fourteenth year in a row from the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC), an organization that aims to help patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of respiratory care services available in hospitals.

The QRCR designation is only awarded to hospitals that adhere to a strict set of criteria quality governing their respiratory care services. Valley is one of about 700 hospitals or approximately 15 percent of hospitals nationwide that have applied for and received this award."

Valley has earned this recognition each year since 2003, when the QRCR program was initiated by the AARC to help consumers identify those facilities using qualified respiratory therapists to provide respiratory care. Hospitals earning the QRCR designation ensure patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services.

The AARC’s QRCR program grew out of growing concerns among healthcare leaders and the general public regarding the safety and quality of healthcare services provided to patients. Based on the QRCR requirements, The Valley Hospital provides a level of respiratory care consistent with national standards and guidelines and is committed to quality care.
