Partners Mike Ryan and Julie Song are hoping to create an authentic Irish restaurant and bar with local flair at the site of the former Frontier Room on the corner of Madison and Park avenues.

"We wanted a place where you can meet up, hang out, and have a good time with friends" Ryan said. "That's where the word 'pub' comes from after all -- a public place for everyone to meet."

Plans are for a dozen brands of beer on tap, with 6 nationwide lagers, as well as a rotating offering of local craft brews.

Seating will be for 90, with a full-service kitchen. The menu is not fully set, Ryan said, but will be finalized throughout the first few months.

Ryan and Song spent nearly five months gutting the place after buying it in January. A bar renovations is completing the transformation.

They're planning a soft opening with a limited menu the end of this month, with a grand opening soon after.

"We never really intended on doing this much work to the place," Ryan said, "but we've gone above and beyond and have a bar that looks like it belongs in Dublin."
