Here are some of the adult-class options:
Watercolor, Beginner to Advanced Beginner -- This 10-week class begins Monday, Sept. 12, runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and costs $315. The class will cover color theory, value, how to mix paint and basic watercolor techniques.
Painting and Drawing with and without Figure -- This 10-week class begins Monday, Sept. 12, runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and costs $315. Additional model fees may be required, and a model will be nude or partially clothed. The class will discuss principles of drawing and painting, color theory, and paint application.
Sculpture, Stone -- This 10-week class also begins Monday, Sept. 12. It runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $315. Beginning students will be introduced to the tools and process, and advanced students may use power tools.
Collage -- These workshops are on Tuesdays, Sept. 13, 20 and 27, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. It's $35 per session or $100 for all three. All skill levels are welcome. Folks will be able finish a collage, and if there's time, get matting and framing tips.
"Creativity Matters!" Creative Brain Training -- These sessions will work on "memory through movement." The two-part workshop is on Thursdays, Oct. 6 and 13, from 7-8:30 p.m. It's free for ACNNJ members or $25 a session. The workshop will use body awareness, exercise, movement and dance techniques to strengthen memory.
An Evening with Matisse -- This single session is on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 6:30-9 p.m. The cost is $35 and includes canvas, paints and light refreshments. After a brief lecture on Matisse, attendees will create a paining inspired by his "cut-outs."
