Calvary’s faith community officially launches a new year of ministry for children and adults on “Rally Day."

The event begins at 10 a.m. with worship highlighted by a new six-member contemporary praise band “On The Wings,” which includes vocalists and musicians playing the mandolin, electric violin, guitars, keyboard, and drums.

Seven-year-old Irene Jung of Ridgewood will sing “You Raise Me Up” popularized by Josh Groban, and Dumont high schoolers Derek Ravensbergen, Michael Brownlee, and Kyle Schellberg will be confirmed in their faith.

This service will be for all ages and will also have a short interactive message based on the Gospel reading.

Following worship will be lawn games led by the youth, a display of many outreach activities that benefit the community and needy, and a free potluck picnic lunch for everyone.

The congregation of approximately 100 people is led by Rev. Elaine Wing and is diverse in age, ethnicity, religious background, and gender.
