Bergenfield Student Competes In Master Chef Junior

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- A Bergenfield student will compete in Fox Network's Master Chef Junior.

Amaya Baez, a fifth grade student at Hoover Elementary School will be featured in the show. 

She and her family are active members of the school community. 

She picked up cooking from her mother, and has enjoyed baking cookies at age 7. Her favorite dish is chicken parmigiana and she aspires to one day cook for the president.

The show features 23 other talented youngsters from ages 8 – 13 who enjoy making unique desserts or full dinners in a variety of styles. 

Baez is a member of the choir, orchestra, Million Word Club, graphic novel club, and the ALP Program. 

The show is on Fridays at 8 p.m. 

"We know she will represent the Bergenfield community with Bear Pride," school officials stated.
