DUMONT, N.J. – Holy Cow Sliders, formerly of Bergenfield, is operating out of Dumont’s Brookside Tavern.
Marlene Arute said she re-opened shop slinging her signature sliders, and "all my old customers followed me."
Her Italian parents infused Arute with a love of cooking.
She got the idea for the sliders while cooking burgers poolside at her family's Closter home.
“Every time someone used to try my burgers they’d say ‘Holy cow, this is great,’” Arute said.
Her current top seller at Brookside is the chipotle cheeseburger. Arute plans to expand the menu to include grilled chicken and veggie burgers.
At her Bergenfield location, diners could get only soft drinks with their burgers. At Brookside they can have a beer or cocktail, as well.
“This woman’s got one heck of a following,” Brookside owner Rich Dimeglio told Daily Voice. "It’s good for her and it’s good for me.”
Holy Cow Sliders at the Brookside Tavern is located at 44 E. Madison Ave, Dumont.
