Chair Of Dumont Land Use Board Defying D'Angelo Farms Developer

DUMONT, N.J. -- Refusing to sign off on a settlement agreement with a developer that would allow new apartments and affordable-housing units at the former site of D'Angelo Farms, the chairman of Dumont's Joint Land Use Board did so because he wanted to see the plans first, according to NorthJersey.com.

The agreement would allow the developer, Landmark Dumont LLC, to build 142 new apartment unit, including 18 affordable-housing units, said NorthJersey.com. It also asks the borough to declare the properties as areas in need of redevelopment, reported NorthJersey.com.

Not signing the agreement does not end the project since from here the board will determine whether the properties should be designed as areas in need of redevelopment, review site plans and review zoning ordinances, added NorthJersey.com.
