South Jersey Man Committed 'Smash-And-Grab' Burglaries Along Jersey Shore: Police
An Ocean County man was accused of several "smash-and-grab" burglaries along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Todd Lansing, 46, of Brick Township, was charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools. The Brielle Police Department announced his charges in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 28. Authorities have identified the woman killed in a house fire in Belmar on Wednesday, March 15, authorities said. Frances Colie, 93, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. on the 1700 block of Surf Avenue. Target To Replace These Shuttered NJ Kmarts
Another Kmart store has closed its doors leaving just two left in all of New Jersey. The Kearny store on Passaic Avenue closed on May 2, NJ Advance Media reports. The storefront will be replaced by a Target store, according to Target's list of upcoming locations. Target will also be replacing the Kmart that closed in Wall on Route 35, and the one in Somers Point on 250 New Road. Only two Kmart stores remain in New Jersey: One in Avenel and the other in Westwood.

A Point Pleasant apartment building was damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon. Smoke and flames were coming from a second floor apartment window when crews arrived at the Beacon Gardens Apartments off of Route 35 around 1:40 p.m. Crews from Point Pleasant and Wall worked to knock down the blaze, which was under control in approximately 20 minutes. Hatteras Press of Tinton Falls has manufactured more than 10,000 face shields for hospital workers.
