Alert Neighbor Called 911 After Seeing Fire In Unoccupied Jersey Shore Apartment: Firefighters An unoccupied apartment unit caught fire in Ocean County and a neighbor was credited with helping report the flames before they spread, officials said. Brick Township firefighters responded to the fire in the Maple Leaf Park apartment complex at 1142 Sawmill Road at around 3:54 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 18, the fire department said in a news release. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm when Brick police said smoke was coming from the roof. Police evacuated the apartment building and the fire was under control in about 40 minutes. No one was in the apartment that caught fire and no injuries…

Brick PD: 38-Year-Old Woman Stabs Neighbors A 38-year-old woman stabbed two of her neighbors, authorities said. Candace Haynes of Brick cut the women with a knife and is charged with assault, Brick police said in a press statement on Tuesday. Police responded to 195 Sawmill Road about 2:30 a.m. on April 12 on a report of a fight involving three neighbors. The first victim sustained a stab wound to her neck and the second victim sustained a cut to her forearm, police said. The woman with the neck injury was taken to Ocean Medical Center and later transferred to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she was treated. Her injury was …
