116-Year-Old Jersey Shore Market Abruptly Closes, Accused Of Unpaid Debts In Lawsuits
A Monmouth County market that abruptly closed after more than a century of business is facing several lawsuits for unpaid debts, according to court filings. Sickles Market closed its grocery store in Little Silver in early March. The store had been open on Harrison Avenue since 1908. The market's website had a statement explaining the sudden closure. Century-Old Pep Boys Closing Some NJ Auto Parts Stores
Pep Boys is losing some of its pep. The century-old retail automotive chain based in Philadelphia plans to close more than 100 of its parts stores nationwide -- including several in New Jersey, according to multiple news reports. The automotive company is shifting away from auto parts stores but will keep its Pep Boys maintenance garages and tire outlets -- similar to Instant Oil Change or Mavis, reports said. Sears To Shutter Hackensack Store Leaving Only 1 NJ Location Standing
The Sears in Hackensack is one of many that will soon close permanently -- leaving only one last Sears store standing in New Jersey. The chain had added two temporary closing jobs at the Hackensack store to its online database as of June 30 -- two days after the Rockaway Townsquare Mall listed its own closing positions.
