Bathroom Ceiling Fan Blamed For House Fire In South Jersey Gated Community: Police
Firefighters quickly put out flames at a home in a gated community in Manchester Township, authorities said. Volunteer firefighters from Manchester, Ridgeway, and Whiting responded to the fire on Edinburgh Lane in the Leisure Village West community at around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 27, Manchester police said in a news release. Two People Displaced After House Fire In South Jersey
A home caught fire in Manchester Township, authorities said. Manchester Township police responded to the house fire on Conestoga Drive in the Whiting section of the township at around 5:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 3, the department said in a news release. Officers found smoke coming from the back of the home and called firefighters to the scene. Everyone inside the home got out safely and no one was injured. A Plumsted Township man was accused of intentionally starting two fires in Ocean County, authorities said. Edward Petroni, 41, was charged on Monday, Mar. 4 with two counts of aggravated arson, burglary, and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. A propane tank is to blame for the home explosion that killed a 45-year-old Jersey Shore man on Tuesday, Oct. 31, authorities said. Kevin Thomas, 45, was found on his front lawn of 253 Neptune Dr., with serious burns, and airlifted to Temple Burn Center in Philadelphia after the explosion that turned into a fire ravaged his house, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A 27-year-old man from the Jersey Shore was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey state prison for setting a home on fire, authorities said. Multiple Fire Departments Knock Down Fire In Lakehurst
An overnight fire Tuesday destroyed an Ocean County home, responders said. The Red Cross was assisting seven adults who reportedly were displaced by the blaze, which broke out on Center Street in Lakehurst shortly before 3 a.m. Flames shot through the roof of the home and caused minor damage to nearby homes. The Ocean County Fire Marshal's office was investigating the cause.
