14K Jersey Shore Customers Without Power (Storm Update) More than 14,000 customers across the Jersey Shore are without power on Monday, Jan. 10, after strong winds and rain raced across New Jersey overnight. Most of those who lost electricity are in Monmouth County, according to utility companies. Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) said 10,489 customers were without power as of 11 a.m. Those included 2,169 customers in Marlboro, 1,238 in Millstone, and 1,088 in Colts Neck. John Roblin, 50, of Mullica, was charged with two counts of animal cruelty and two coiunds of failing to provide pets with animal shelter, a disorderly persons offense,, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Man Faces 4 Years For Stealing ATV In Mullica A Camden man faces a four-year state prison sentence for stealing an ATV from a yard in Atlantic County, authorities said. Julio Arroyo, 34, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Jan. 4 to theft of a Honda ATV from a property in Mullica in May 2019.  Arroyo admitted that he unlawfully entered onto a property that did not belong to him, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. He is currently being held in custody pending his sentencing on Feb. 22. He is slated to receive a four-year New Jersey State Prison term for the theft, the prosecutor said. Massive NJ Forest Wildfire Is 95 Percent Contained, Officials Say A massive wildfire that destroyed 13,500 acres in New Jersey's largest forest is 95 percent contained, authorities said. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service released the latest update on Wednesday, June 22.  The fire at Wharton State Forest extended to the townships of Washington, Shamong, Hammonton and Mullica. There is an ongoing investigation into an illegal campfire which has been determined to be the cause of the fire, state officials said. Motorist Killed In South Jersey Crash Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to a fatal crash in Atlantic County, authorities said. The crash occurred about 10 a.m. Friday on the 4400 block of South White House Pike in Mullica, according to initial reports. By 10:30 a.m., the crash was confirmed as fatal and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office had been called to the scene, reports said.  At 1 p.m., DOT still had the Pike closed in both directions, reports said.
