According to the state Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), researchers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution put the buoy about 20 miles off the coast of Atlantic City on Sunday, Feb. 11. The buoy provides real-time monitoring of baleen whales by identifying their distinct calls. NJ Marine Experts Rescue Stranded Seals Several injured seals have been rescued and are recovering at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in South Jersey, authorities said.
