Pop Lloyd Stadium Getting $5.6M Transformation Into Multisport Facility In Atlantic City A neglected baseball stadium in Atlantic City is getting major upgrades and will soon be used for many other sports, officials said. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday, June 17 for the $5.6 million renovation to Pop Lloyd Stadium. The project will make the stadium playable for baseball, softball, T-ball, football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey, as well as other sports and activities. NJ Athletes Lead USA Women's Field Hockey Back To Olympics Team USA will make its return to the Olympics in women's field hockey and a duo from New Jersey helped the 16-player squad earn a summer trip to France. The U.S. beat Japan 2-1 in the semifinals of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi, India, on Thursday, Jan. 18. Ashley Hoffman and Abby Tamer scored about three minutes apart in the fourth quarter to earn the comeback victory for the United Eagles. NJ High School Junior, Varsity Lacrosse Goalie Alexea Karpinski Dies, 17 Hunterdon Central High School junior and varsity lacrosse goalie Alexea Karpinski died Nov. 21. She was 17. Born and raised in Raritan Township, Karpinski was known for her love of sports, particularly lacrosse. She played as goalie for the Hunterdon Central Red Devils as well as for the Triple Threat Elite Club Team, her obituary says. Karpinski had a goal of playing D1 lacrosse while pursuing an exercise science degree. She wanted to become a professional athletic trainer, her memorial says. Karpinski also played varsity field hockey while maintaining a 3.96 GPA and juggling many other e…
