At 10:54 a.m. on Wednesday, Atlantic City Detectives Nick Berardis, James Barrett and Chris Smith conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 1700 block of Arctic Avenue after observing a driver, later identified as Maseter Laurent, engaging in a drug transaction, according to police.
Laurent, 28, of Pleasantville, was arrested after detectives recovered 660 grams of cocaine, 2,500 bags of heroin, 120 grams of methamphetamine and almost two pounds of marijuana from the vehicle, Lt. Kevin Fair, a police department spokesman said. The estimated value of the drugs seized was about $55,000, according to Fair.
Laurent was charged with multiple counts of possession and intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances, police said.
He was being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
