A new alert has been issued in Anne Arundel County after a raccoon tested positive for rabies. The county's Department of Health issued an alert on Friday, Nov. 1 advising that anyone who may have come into contact with a raccoon this week in the 6500 block of Shadyside Road in Shadyside should contact officials after the animal tested positive for the virus. A fresh alert has been issued in Harford County after another raccoon tested positive for rabies. The Harford County Health Department issued an alert cautioning that on Thursday, the agency received confirmation from the Maryland Department of Health that a raccoon tested positive for the virus in Fallston.
