Mom's Sudden Death Sparks Outpouring Of Support: 'The Glue' Of Maryland Family

A Maryland family is still in shock following the unexpected loss of a woman remembered for her boundless love, compassion, and selflessness.

Alysha Ann Dennings-Georg, 56, of Frederick, passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 28, leaving behind a heartbroken family and a legacy of kindness that touched all who knew her, according to her obituary.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dennings-Georg was raised in Annandale, where she graduated high school in 1987 before relocating to Frederick, where she built a life devoted to her family, friends, and beloved pets.

"Alysha was the heart of her family—the glue that held everyone together," organizers of a GoFundMe for the family wrote. "She had an incredible gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued.

"Her love and compassion were unmatched," Garrett Stottlemyer continued. "No matter the time or place, she was always there with an open heart, a listening ear, and comforting words ... She was a woman of selflessness, always putting others before herself."

According to her loved ones, Dennings-Georg found joy in the simple things—spending time with her children, chatting with friends, reading novels, watching movies, playing video games, and connecting with others on social media.

She especially cherished her daily conversations with her mother and the companionship of her dogs, Bella and Bentley, they added.

Alysha moved to Frederick in 2017, where she built a life with her husband, John Georg, whom she had known since they were teenagers.

"Though they had known of each other in high school, their love story began in 2015 and grew into an unbreakable bond," her obit states. "John was not only her husband but her best friend, partner, and greatest love."

Following her death, thousands of dollars have been raised through the fundraising campaign, with dozens of donors contributing to the fund.

"Alysha’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.," organizers wrote. "Though her time with us was far too short, her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her."

Dennings-Georg is survived by her mother, stepfather, husband, four children, granddaughter, dogs, and many other loved ones.

"It pains me so much to share the news that Lola’s mom unexpectedly passed away last Friday," a friend of the family posted online with a link to the fundraiser. "Garrett and Lola have been together for a year and a half and they live with Lola’s mom and ,stepdad.

"Garrett set this up to help them out with funeral expenses."
