Hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots have been sent to Maryland voters, with more on the way, as the country rapidly approaches one of the most highly-anticipated presidential elections in American history. The Maryland Board of Elections issued an alert on Thursday afternoon advising residents that the first phase of the 2024 General Election mail-in ballots are being sent to registered voters who requested them. A convict from Montgomery County admitted to illegally possessing USPS “arrow keys” used to open collection boxes outside a local post office, authorities announced Monday, Feb. 5. Andrew Steven Martin, 30, of Silver Spring, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of US Postal Service keys used to access US Postal Service mail receptacles, as well as being a felon in possession of ammunition, Erek L. DC Police Seek Suspect Who Robbed Postal Worker At Gunpoint
D.C. police are looking to identify the man who robbed a U.S. postal worker at gunpoint, officials said. At around 5:30 p.m. on September 12, the postal worker was approached by the suspect in the 1100 block K Street, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. The suspect pulled out a gun and demanded the worker hand over their property, authorities said. Once the victim complied, the suspect fled the scene, police reported. Maryland Businessman Sentenced For $940K USPS Facilities Fraud Scheme
A Maryland businessman will spend more than a year behind bars for conspiring to commit wire fraud and overcharging the US Postal Service (USPS) for maintenance and repair services through his company. New Windsor resident Joseph Liberto, 47, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison, followed by 12 months of home detention and three years of supervised release for a wire fraud conspiracy in connection with his company’s contract to perform work at USPS facilities.
