Off-Duty DC Police Officer's SUV Carjacked In NJ: Report
A carjacking suspect is on the run after an off-duty DC police officer's SUV was stolen in New Jersey, officials confirmed. The incident happened early Monday, Nov. 21 in Elizabeth, city spokesperson Ruby Contreras said. The unidentified cop's badge and ID card were found in the car, which was later discovered in an unspecified location, NJ.com reports. Authorities say that a Charles County Fire water tanker truck was involved in a crash, reportedly while on its way to assist another agency with a house fire on Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, the Charles County Sheriff's Office issued an alert advising that the agency was investigating a crash involving a firetruck and SUV. Police ID Woman Struck, Killed By Car In Maryland
The victim who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Chillum has been identified as a Hyattsville woman, authorities said. Maria Quinteros, 57, was struck by a SUV heading eastbound on East-West Highway near Riggs Road around 9 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, according to the Prince George's Police Department. Police arrived to find Quinteros in the roadway and she was subsequently transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
