Virginia Man Killed By Off-Duty Officer In DC (Update) A Virginia man was shot and killed by an off-duty police officers over the weekend in Washington DC, authorities said. Lazarus Wilson, 23, of Dumfries, was spotted by a pair of Metro Police Department officers holding  a gun during a confrontation on the 800 block of Wharf Street around 9:15 p.m. Saturday, July 16, MPD said. The officer told Wilson to drop the gun, but he didn't, and so one of the officers fired his service weapon, striking Wilson, police said. Body Cam Footage Released In Fatal Police Involved Shooting In Maryland (Video) Authorities have released the body camera footage from a fatal police involved shooting that happened last May in Maryland (scroll down for video). Ralph Picarello III, 39, was killed after charging at officers while armed with knives during a domestic disturbance call on Boundbrook Way in Essex on May 4, according to the Maryland Attorney General. A 9-1-1 caller told police that a man, later identified as Picarello, was throwing objects at family member inside the home. Delmar resident Austin Jacob Allen Davidson was apprehended on Sunday, June 12 after shooting and killing Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard, a 16-year veteran officer who was murdered days before his 42nd birthday, according to State Police and Hilliard's department. The officer was struck Saturday June 4, while responding to a call of "unknown trouble" on 500 Virginia Avenue around 8:40 p.m., his department said.
