Man Returned $300K Of Items To Home Depots That He Never Paid For, Including MD Stores: Feds
A Connecticut man is accused of ripping off nearly $300,000 from more than two dozen Home Depot stores across eight states, including Maryland, authorities said. Henrique Costa-Mota, age 26, of West Hartford, is charged with conspiracy and wire fraud in the scheme that he allegedly ran from June 2021 until February 202, the US Attorney for Rhode Island said. Costa-Mota is accused of going to Home Depot locations across the Northeast dressed as a contractor. A recall has been issued for a popular brand of tomato sauce sold at Wegmans supermarkets. The manufacturer, LiDestri Foods, said 24-ounce jars of Wegmans Italian Classics Diavolo pasta sauce may contain undeclared fish (anchovy). Kale, Spinach, Collard Green Products Produced In MD Subject To Listeria Recall
A Maryland-based company announced a recall of kale and other similar products that were shipped up and down parts of the East Coast and could be contaminated with Listeria. Lancaster Foods is voluntarily recalling three brands of Robinson Fresh, Lancaster, and Giant brand kale, spinach, and collard green products after a random sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes by the New York Agriculture and Markets Food Safety Division. A new COVID-19 variant first detected in New York in January has now been identified in 27 states, including Maryland. The first projected snowfall totals have been released for a storm system headed to the region in the second half of the weekend. The system is on track for Sunday, Dec. 11, according to the National Weather Service. Maryland AG Reaches Massive Settlement with Google Over Location Tracking Practices
Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh has announced that his Consumer Protection Division as well as 39 other attorneys general have reached a $391.5 million multi-state settlement with Google over its location tracking practices relating to Google Account settings. The settlement will also require Google to make it easier for consumers to manage their privacy settings when using Google products, according to Frosh.
